The next generation of multi-phase flow meter for the oil and gas industry.

About MP Flow

MP Flow MeterEvery year, oil producers lose countless millions of dollars for lack of better well production data. Multi Phase Flow International (MP Flow) has developed a multi‐phase ultrasonic metering device for the oil and gas industry that, coupled with a groundbreaking software package, will revolutionize the way oil producers manager their producing assets.

This patented meter and proprietary software package instantly translates high frequency sound waves into constant, separated measurements of the oil, gas, and water content from the mixture produced by a well. This data can be analyzed remotely 24/7 and includes a unique self-calibration system to adapt to changing flow stream properties. With an impressive level of accuracy and a medium safe enough to use on pregnant mothers, this technology will allow the world’s top oil and gas producers to more efficiently, safely, and completely extract their precious reserves.

Dr. Yildirim Hurmuzlu, Founder & Chairman

Dr. Hurmuzlu has been a mechanical engineering professor at the Lyle School of Engineering at Southern Methodist University for the past 22 years, has received tenure, and served as the Chair of the Mechanical Engineering Department at SMU for 6 years. He has consulted with numerous organizations and institutions, both public and private, as well as branches of the US military on diverse projects from robotics, statics, and fluid dynamics. He is currently supervising several Ph.D. students and has conducted research in the fields of robotics, impact mechanics, biomechanics, and sensor dynamics. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in 1987, a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in 1983, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Bosphorus University in Istanbul, Turkey in 1981. He first began developing the ultrasound flow meter with a team 6 years ago. As the majority shareholder, he will continue to actively manage Multiphase Flow International and oversee the ongoing development of current and prospective technology.

Jon Mueller – Chief Executive Officer

Jon has 5 years of experience at the US oil super major ConocoPhillips in Houston, TX and Bartlesville, OK. He worked in a variety of finance roles at the company including: crude oil supply and trading, spanning diverse refinery systems in California, Louisiana, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania as well as consolidating global waterborne crude oil trading activity for the company’s international production and refinery supply operations, crude oil settlements with respect to custody transfer and pipeline loss control, experience in active leasehold agreements, right of way, property tax, and small claims. Previously, he and a team launched a startup for an online “cigars of the month” club and community after winning the undergraduate division of the University of Oklahoma Business Plan Competition. He is currently a full-time MBA candidate at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University concentrating in Finance and Strategy & Entrepreneurship and graduated magna cum laude with a BBA from the Price College of Business, University of Oklahoma. He will oversee strategic planning, business development, and finance for MP Flow.

Matthew Vroom - Chief Operations Officer

Matt has spearheaded three previous startups in the consumer products industry and he specializes in building low overhead, efficient businesses. Two of those companies developed products entirely in-house and sell goods directly to consumers all over the world with minimal outside investment. He arranged domestic and overseas manufacturing while working with engineers to optimize product performance. He is currently a full-time MBA candidate at Southern Methodist University concentrating in Strategy & Entrepreneurship. Matt also holds a BA in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois. Matt will oversee improved aesthetics of future product designs, production, and corporate marketing efforts with a focus on web-based media.

Dr. Edmond Richer, Vice-President, Technology

Dr. Richer is an Associate Professor and Robert C. Womack Chair of Mechanical Engineering at the Lyle School of Engineering at Southern Methodist University. Richer holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from SMU, as well as a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from, Craiova University in Craiova, Romania. His areas of research expertise include: advanced dynamics and control, image guided and haptic assisted robotic systems, applications of robotics in minimally invasive and natural orifice surgery, and ultrasound applications in bone quality assessment and supra resolution imaging. He has received faculty appointments at University of Texas and University of Craiova and is the recipient of the Frederick E. Terman Award in Mechanical Engineering. Richer has developed novel 3D optical imaging instrumentation for cancer research based on bioluminescence and fluorescence and has developed ultrasound-based clinical instruments for bone quality assessment. As co-author on the patent and minority shareholder in MP Flow, he will serve as the company’s Chief Scientist and provide technical advisory services to customers while continuing the development of current and future commercial products.
